STUDENTS
OVERVIEW
CLIMB internships are available for students enrolled at Yale, Middlebury, Stanford, and MIT.
CLIMB offers a wide range of internships in fields from architecture to hedge funds or real estate development, and from pediatric brain injury research to helping executives at the Girl Scouts. All participants in the program enjoy a number of benefits unmatched in most other internship programs:
- Paid eight-week (for Stanford) or ten-week internships. All internships, be they in the for-profit, non-profit, or government sectors provide at least $300 in salary per week.
- Free housing at the Inn at Auraria in downtown Denver. All students live in program-sponsored suites with students from participating schools.
- Fifteen alumni-sponsored events. Throughout the summer, students enjoy a wide range of civic, cultural, and social experiences. Past events have included lunches with former Senator Gary Hart, meetings with Mayor Hickenlooper, a "career history" dinner with Don MacKenzie, and discussion of law practice high above Coors Field before watching the baseball game.
- A mentor. Each student will be paired with a mentor who will help to orient the student to Denver and provide career advice. Typically, the student meets with the mentor several times, sometimes for a family dinner, a business lunch, or a weekend day trip.
- Alumni networking. Students interact with alumni regularly and learn the skills of networking. Community introductions, especially for students who ask, will abound.
- A summer with students from other schools. Students will meet and socialize with 30-50 other students participating in the program. You will be exploring a new job and a new city with dozens of new friends, sharing dinners and discussing the variety of jobs and opportunities with each other.
- The Democratic National Convention is in Denver from August 25-28. Some students may want to stay in Denver after the CLIMB program. Students will be on their own, for housing and everything else. The Democratic National Committee is seeking volunteers and one or more groups may have volunteer or paid internships.
- Help getting permanent employment. Local alumni and the CLIMB staff will assist you in seeking and securing permanent employment in Denver upon your graduation.
